1) Minat
2) Terpaksa (arahan majikan)
3) Ingin berubah angin
4) Ingin menikmati kehidupan di tempat org (especially pengajian luar negara)
5) Dll.

Aku? Why I'm decided to further study when I already have my career, my marriage, my life?? A simple answer is - there is no end of learning. Besides, all the above reasons are also part of the answer why.

Persediaan untuk sambung pengajian ke UK/Australia (postgraduate)

If you have decided to further study to UK/Australia under JPA/SLAB/SLAI scholarship, make sure you check the ranking of the chosen universities first. Most probably you have to choose the top 50 universities in the World. How to check- find through this link:

QS World university ranking

Once you have done, check the program and courses offered. If it suits your interest, start looking for experts in your field of study and try to approach them. In my case, I did approach 2 experts in one university, in case another one cannot supervise me, there is another possible one. D not only look at one university, try to have several universities in your list.

How to approach them?

The most easiest way is through email. But the method of approaching varies-some people they approach supervisor by only mentioning the title and summary of research, after that the supervisor  gives feedback. Maybe he/she ask you to prepare a research proposal later on.

Mine, I've my own way, I did prepare a research proposal first, and when I approached the supervisor, I've attached my CV as well as the research proposal..normally after 1-2 weeks plus, I received the feedback. It even faster in receiving feedback because the supervisor has seen our interest and writing skill.

Sometimes, the supervisor may ask you to improve either on method, or literature review, or maybe the research questions or research objectives. Don't worry of doing it, it shows how passionate you are in your research. The supervisor also wants to know you - I mean how you are going to go through this process. Even better, the supervisor will email you some references/articles that might help you do your writing.

Once the supervisor agrees to supervise you and ask you to apply to the university through a formal application, normally you can either apply online or traditional one - paper submission. I prefer online. Make sure you scanned all the supporting documents if you wish to apply online.

Don't forget to take IELTS/TOEFL. But I prefer IELTS exam. This is a MUST exam if you wish to further study in UK/Australia. Make sure you get at least 6.5 overall band score with minimum 6.0 in each component for IELTS. However, you must score TOEFL iBT minimum 92 (overall) with minimum 23 in each sub-score. It depends on the universities as well - some might want you to get higher score 100 and above (TOEFL) or 7.0 and above (IELTS). So, all the best. If you don't satisfy with the score AND you think you deserve to get higher, go to this website:
TOEFL -  http://www.ets.org/toefl/ibt/scores/policies/
IELTS - https://malaysia.ielts.britishcouncil.org/iorpsea/html/content/result.jsp

I did once- apply EOR for my IELTS- Alhamdulillah, it works. My result increases. So, if you are confident, go for it, but it takes longer to receive the EOR result 8-10 weeks. If your result increase, you will get your money back.

So, once online application complete, you just wait for the result. You will be informed through email by the officer in-charge regarding your application status or online account (depends). But, if you don't provide the IELTS result during your application, you may receive a conditional offer letter. After you submit the IELTS result then you will get the unconditional offer. Bear in mind, all this may take time, so apply early to avoid rush and delay. In my case, it took 2 months to receive the unconditional offer. Some universities may respond in 4-6 weeks.

All the best.
